Did you know: Vicodin, Oxycontin, Percodan and Percocet are opiates. So is heroin.

About Us

Drugs affect all communities and people from all walks of life. Families Against Narcotics (FAN) is a non-profit, 501c(3) organization that was formed to reach out to those whose lives are affected by drugs: the addict, the recovering addict, families of addicts, concerned parents and community members.

FAN is a vehicle for delivering important messages concerning the dangers and destruction of drugs.

FAN's mission, "With FAN no family suffers alone", offers opportunities for individuals to learn about substance abuse and face addiction in an enlightened, rather than an embarrassed, way. The power of FAN is in our unconventional approach of dealing with people who find themselves in unimaginable situations. Using real-life experiences instead of statistics, FAN hopes to help students, parents and the community deal with the realities of drug abuse and addiction.

If you are on this site for information - great! One of FAN's goals is to help raise awareness about drugs today. Thanks for visiting the site; we hope you find the information useful.

If your life is affected by drugs, we understand how you feel. Whether you are: an addict, drug user, parent, brother or sister, friend, grandparent, aunt, uncle...we've walked in your shoes and you are not alone. There are others out there, much closer to you than you can imagine, who have or are going through similar experiences. And help is available. Many of us never thought drugs would be an issue in our home - but they are. And now we're at a loss as to what to do, who to talk to or where to turn.

On this site we try to provide information that was not available to us during our search. There are no easy answers and we all wish there was a magical cure. But until there is, we have each other and our shared experiences to help us through some very difficult times.

Don't wait until tomorrow; get help now. Together no family suffers alone and together we can make a difference.
