Get Help Now

If this is an emergency, call one of the numbers above or call 911. If you're here because you're in crisis...you need to know that you can do this. And you need to do this. Start with a couple of deep breath and call someone.

Take action now if:

  • I know or think my child is using drugs.
  • I found drugs or drug paraphernalia.
    • At a minimum, your child is involved with and is most likely using drugs – timetoact.drugfree.org has a step-by-step guide that will help you intervene and take action.
  • My child has been arrested (even for a non-drug related offense) and/or charged with driving under the influence (DUI), or minor in possession (MIP) of alcohol.
    • These are big indicators of drug use and you must consider the possibility that your child may be using drugs; timetoact.drugfree.org has a step-by-step guide that will help you intervene and take action.
  • I need help finding treatment for my child; where do I start?
    • In addition to the phone numbers above, go to Resources for sources of help in Macomb County, Michigan and a list of possible keywords to use to search online for additional resources in your area.
  • Get help for yourself.
    • To overcome the shock, disbelief, embarrassment, anger and honestly face the realities of your situation, the best thing you can do for your child is to get help for yourself.  Most people benefit from the support of others who have been or are still in a similar situation.  One such support group is Families Anonymous.

    • Families Anonymous – National – 800-736-9805
    • Families Anonymous – Fraser, Michigan – 586-294-3480
